Conflict Management for Senior Leaders
Overview
Senior leaders carry a legal duty to prevent and resolve workplace conflict before it becomes bullying, harassment or a formal complaint. This course gives them the skills and the compliance knowledge to meet that duty. It is anchored to the HSA/WRC Code of Practice for Employers and Employees on the Prevention and Resolution of Bullying at Work (2021).
Who it is for
Directors, senior managers and department heads responsible for teams, policy or dignity-at-work procedures.
Learning outcomes
Participants will be able to:
- Explain senior leaders' responsibilities under the 2021 Code of Practice and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
- Recognise the early signs of conflict and tell the difference between conflict, bullying and legitimate management action
- Use informal resolution techniques confidently and fairly
- Know when and how to move a matter to the formal process
- Keep the records needed to show the organisation acted properly
